4 people were killed when driving across a flooded bridge across Hardy Creek in Cottonville. Another man was killed when driving across a flooded bridge across Ugly Creek in Norwood. Cars were stranded in Norwood and Locust, and people had to be rescued. 3 businesses in Oakboro were flooded.
Numerous roads were closed due to high water flowing across them. In addition, sections of a couple of roads were washed away due to the flooding, including Pole Running Road near Bridge Road and Nelson Mountain Road between Harkey Road and Lockwood Road. Also, a bridge on Old Mill Road was damaged due to high water. This flash flood warning was replaced with a flood warning as the flooding persisted.
Several roads were closed due to flooding, mostly west of Albermarle, including, but not limited to Old Mill Road and Flint Ridge Road. Also, a temporary repair to Nelson Mountain Road (which had flooded 2 nights prior), washed out, along with nearby public water lines.
