Fierce winds knocked down over 100 trees in the town of Conetoe, many falling on homes. The roofs of three chicken houses were also destroyed, killing about 400 chickens, while another 40,000 had to be moved to new locations.
Straight-line winds flattened a significant portion of a bean field in the Leggett area near the Sandy Acres Mobile Home Park. In the mobile home park, four mobile homes were destroyed and six others were damaged. Two of the destroyed mobile homes were flipped over, their anchors and tie down straps having been snapped or pulled completely out of the ground. The area of damage originated near the interesection of West Logsboro and Battleboro Roads just south of Highway 97, and extended east for about four miles to Highway 33. Snapped trees resulted in damage to roofs along West Logsboro Road and Highway 33 from East Logsboro Road to Fishing Creek Road. At its widest point the damage area was as much as two miles wide.
Straight line damaging winds damaged a mobile home at 42 Stable Road. The mobile home sustained damage to the vinyl siding, along with a broken window. Less than 200 feet away at 5826 McKendree Church Road, a large oak tree toppled onto a storage room at another residence. Another mobile home was damaged at 75 Whichard Lane when another large oak tree struck the home. There were no injuries.
