Numerous trees were down, and multiple houses were damaged as a result of strong thunderstorm winds at Brant Lake.||A National Weather Service Storm Survey Team found evidence of straight line wind damage as a result of a macroburst, with damage consistent with maximum wind speeds of near 100 MPH. The damage swath was 5 miles long, and 1 mile wide, and occurred on the west and east sides of Brant Lake. The damage on the west side of the lake was more widespread than on the east side.||One large tree fell through the roof of a Palisades Road home, causing an estimated $75,000 in damage.
Trees and power lines down county-wide. A tree crashed through housein Queensbury. Part of Bay Road and Route 149 closed by downed treesor limbs. Additional trees fell on homes in Fort Edward, Granville,Queensbury and Argyle.
Severe thunderstorms moved across parts of eastern New York ahead of a low pressure system which was moving into the area during the afternoon hours of July 30th. Thunderstorm winds downed trees and powerlines with Washington and Herkimer Counties being hardest hit. In Colonie torrential rains resulted in an urban flood as storm drains backed up.
