Pea-size hail accompanied a thunderstorm complex as it moved across Suffolk county late at night. The one exception to this small hail occurred in Wading River where one-half to three-quarters inch hail was observed for a brief time.
A squall line developed in a very warm and unstable airmass during the late afternoon hours. Numerous reports of pea- and marble-size hail were received along with several observations of 3/4 inch hail. No damage was reported with any of this events.
