Flash flooding was reported on the Belt Parkway near Bay Parkway in Brooklyn. Two lanes were blocked on the Belt Parkway westbound from Farmers Blvd. to Flatbush Avenue. A spotter at Sheepshead Bay measured 1.75 inches of rain.
Strong thunderstorms containing torrential downpours caused flash flooding of streets and businesses. Flash flood waters submerged 9th street between 2nd and 3rd avenues with between 3 and 5 feet of water in a very short period of time.
