A funnel cloud was spotted in the vicinity of the Interstate 295 truck stop in Pedricktown. Several trees were knocked down near the intersection of G Street and Division Street in Carney's Point. In Pennsville, the police department recorded wind gusts at up to 70 mph. Additionally, a 70 feet tall oak tree came crashing down through a home on Quaker Road in Pennsville. Although the house was occupied, no injuries resulted. Approximately 6,000 customers lost power at the height of the storm. One of the most serious related incidences was the overturning of a tractor-trailer on the Delaware Memorial Bridge eastbound span, which closed all four lanes into New Jersey.
A severe thunderstorm tore down a few trees in Upper Pittsgrove Township. A greater than 200-year-old tree was knocked down into a home at the intersection of New Jersey State Route 77 and Glassboro Road. The tree fell through the roof, damaged the gutters and broke two windows. The evening thunderstorms caused about 4,000 homes and businesses in Salem County to lose power.
A microburst occurred in the Lennox Run development in Pedricktown. The most significant damage occurred at a residence on Clara Drive where a pontoon boat was blown off a trailer and into a wood fence, doors to a shed were damaged, and a portion of fascia board was blown off. The homeowner noted damage visible on the interior of the outer walls on the second floor, though there wasn't any visible damage on the exterior of the wall. No damage was noted outside of this development. The estimated maximum wind speed was determined with the damage to the fascia board.
