In Woodbridge, a 44-year-old man was rescued from his stranded vehicle at the Leesville Avenue Railroad underpass. In Carteret, basements were flooded on four blocks and three roads were closed. Roadway flooding was described as serious in Plainsboro and South Brunswick. Roads were closed in East Brunswick, Milltown and Middlesex. U.S. Routes 1 and 9 were closed in Woodbridge. Storm totals included 3.30 inches in Iselin, 2.80 inches in Middlesex and 2.33 inches in Deans.|
Heavy rain which fell within one-half hour reported in South Old Bridge. A 24-hour total between 1.0 and 2.0 inches of rain was estimated in this area by the Middle Atlantic River Forecast Center based on radar. Time estimated.
Poor drainage flooding occurred in the Ideal Mobile Home off of Rahway Avenue in Woodbridge. Many people evacuated and spent the night of the 11th elsewhere. Trash cans were floating away and water levels reached the tail pipes of vehicles. Event precipitation totals included 3.68 inches in New Brunswick. 3.42 inches in North Brunswick and 3.34 inches in Cranbury.
