A severe thunderstorm hit Hammonton Township very hard and caused approximately one million dollars in property damage along with additional damage to the blueberry crop. There were dozens upon dozens of downed and uprooted trees. Trees fell on homes on Bellevue Avenue and French Street. Two buildings at the municipal airport were damaged. The Hammonton High School roof suffered approximately 100 thousand dollars in wind damage. The township's overland drip irrigation system that disperses its treated wastewater near the Boyer Avenue Recreational Center was damaged by downed trees. It was estimated that it would take three weeks to clear all of the fallen trees. A mesonet site measured a wind gust of 71 mph in the township.
The same severe thunderstorm that dropped large hail in Galloway Township produced damaging winds. Dozens of trees were knocked down. On Tulip Avenue, a downed tree crashed through the roof of one house into the bedroom. Other downed trees in the township damaged fences and a deck.
A severe thunderstorm tore down numerous trees and wires across the extreme northwest part of Atlantic County in Buena Borough as well as Buena Vista and Hammonton Townships. In Buena, downed trees damaged a few vehicles and siding was torn off a couple of homes. In Hammonton, heavy patio furniture was blown down the street from one home and windows were damaged at another home.
