Hail up to 1 inch in diameter fell from the western and northern sections of Fremont toward the Fremont Lakes area. The hail fell for an extended time due to the slow movement of the thunderstorm that produced it. The hail was a little larger southwest of Fremont, in the Cedar Bluffs area, and hail from this storm fell from the north part of Fremont into Cedar Bluffs and then into Wahoo.
Hail up to golf ball-size was accompanied by thunderstorm wind gusts estimated at over 60 mph. The hail caused extensive siding damage to at least one home south of Dodge. There were some unverified reports of hail as large as softballs in the area.
Hail up to 4 inches in diameter was reported across mainly the northern and eastern sections of the city. The hail was generally nickel to quarter size throughout much of the town, but the larger stones that fell did extensive damage to roofs, siding, windows and trees, again mainly across the northern and eastern sections of town. The hail was in association with the supercell that produced the brief tornado on the eastern sections of Fremont.
