A severe thunderstorm produced golf ball sized hail and gusty winds. A large dead elm tree was blown down and a roof was blown off of a steel building. Several small trees were also blown down. Wheat crops in the area suffered devastating damage.
A trained spotter reported mainly dime sized hail, but some hail was slightly larger than quarter sized just west-northwest of Fallon in Prairie County. There was also 40 to 50 MPH winds and heavy rain reported at the same location.
A severe thunderstorm moved into southern Prairie county and developed into a line of thunderstorms as it raced off to the northeast at around 50 mph. The thunderstorms produced damage from about 12 miles southwest of Terry to 1 mile north of Terry. There were numerous reports of golfball sized hail. The largest hail reports were from Terry to 1 mile north of Terry.
