The hail was accompanied by 50 to 60 mph thunderstorm wind gusts. The combination of the hail and wind led to some significant crop damage as well as structural damage to several farms. See entire episode narrative for full details.
Three-inch hail damaged car windshields and tore gutters off of homes. Several wheat fields sustained damage. The hail tore the roof off a John Deere combine. One woman was injured when hail struck her in the forehead.
A report of tennis ball size hail was received via social media. Most of the hail that fell was hen egg size (two inches in diameter), with a few hailstones the size of tennis balls. The report included photographic evidence.
