A thunderstorm dropped 2.75 inch diameter hail at Belgrade 4ESE. Hail damage was particularly severe in Bozeman. Montana State University reported up to 1000 windows damaged on campus with a repair estimate in excess of $100,000. The city of Bozeman also reported cleaning up nearly 5 tons of debris consisting of tress and tree limbs. State Farm representatives estimate that Gallatin Valley residents will submit a total of $60 million in claims resulting from the storm.
