Very large hail to about the size of baseballs pounded northern Scott County. In Scott City, at least several vehicle windows were smashed. At a car dealership on the south side of Scott City, about eight of 50 vehicles were damaged. At least one house roof was damaged. Some roads were covered in hail, and a tractor-trailer jack-knifed on Interstate 55 just north of the Scott City exit.
A spotter's relative in Morley reported individual hailstones up to golf ball size, with enough hailstones falling for the ground to accumulate to around an inch thick. Hail fell in the leading portion of the supercell storm, ahead of the hook echo.
Large hail up to 2.25 inches in diameter accompanied a severe thunderstorm that originated over Bollinger and extreme northeast Wayne Counties. The Sikeston and Miner areas were hit, mainly the north sides of Sikeston and Miner. Photos of the hail were posted on broadcast media. There were numerous reports of 1 to 2 inch hail, with the largest measured at 2.25 inches.
