A NWS storm survey found straight line wind damage for about 1.5 miles along Highway H west of Pineville. There were about 100 trees snapped or uprooted. One barn had the roof ripped off. One barn had the side of the structure buckled in. One tree fell on a pickup truck.
A derecho developed over southeast Kansas and northeast Oklahoma, and tracked across McDonald county during the early morning hours of July 4th. Sustained winds up to 75 mph were estimated from the National Weather Service storm survey. Numerous power lines and trees were downed along with random structural damage to homes countywide.
