Saturated antecedent conditions existed prior to this period of excessive rainfall. Some regional locations experienced record rainfall totals from February and March. One to three inches of rain fell across the county causing widespread flash flooding of low water crossings, county roads, and low lying areas near creeks and rivers. Ultimately, all locations that typically flood during periods of excessive rainfall were flooded.
Two to four inches of rain fell over Hickory County resulting in flash flooding of several creeks and streams. A few locations that flooded included a section of Highway D northeast of Nemo, a section of County Road 34 north of Cross Timbers, a section of Highway 123 south of Weaubleau, and a low water crossing at the intersection of Highway P and Starkes Creek.
Heavy rain falling on saturated ground resulted in flooding of low water crossings in the county. Highway D between Preston and Nemo and Highway P east of Cross Timbers were among roads that were closed during this period.
