A squall line, with wind gusts over 70 mph, caused widespread damage from the north side of Cameron to south of Jamesport. The wind destroyed a number of barns, downed trees and power lines, and heavily damaged several hotel/restaurant marquee signs. Hail up to one inch in diameter was also reported in the northern part of Kansas City.
Severe thunderstorms moved through the area with hail and damaging winds. A telephone pole was downed east of Gallatin, and several trees and power lines were downed in and around the Jamesport area. A tree was blown down onto a porch.
