Widespread rainfall of 10 to 15 inches led to widespread flash flooding across the eastern half of Wilkinson County. The Buffalo River near Woodville crested at a record level during the flash flood. Two homes were destroyed, 23 suffered major damage and an additional 58 homes suffered minor damage. There were also 23 public roads and 10 bridges damaged by the flooding. The worst damage was in the town of Crosby where nearly every building was damaged.
Torrential rainfall of 5 to 8 inches fell across northern Wilkinson County and extreme northwest Amite County. Approximately 78 homes and 1 business in Wilkinson County were affected by flooding, with 28 of those homes receiving major damage. The area around Crosby and Silver Creek community experienced the greatest impact from flooding. Five people were trapped by flood waters in the Silver Creek area and rescued around 815 am.
Considerable low land flooding occurred in the extreme west portion of the county near the Mississippi River. County emergency management reported approximately 50 houses and 80 mobile homes were affected by floodwaters. Several roads and bridges in the west portion of the parish were damaged by flooding.
