A line of severe thunderstorms moved across the county from west to east. The storms entered the county around 1020 pm and moved out of the county around 1100 pm. Trees and power lines were blown down throughout the county. Many trees were blown on homes. Four homes, six mobile homes and one business were completely destroyed. Eighteen homes, seven mobile homes and two businesses had major damage and twenty homes, four mobile homes and one business had minor damage. No injuries were reported.
Numerous trees were blown down between Mclain and Neely as a line of thunderstorms moved through. Several manufactured homes suffered damage from the high winds and also from trees falling on the homes. Several of the trees also fell on vehicles. No injuries were reported.
Downburst winds were noted along a 5.83 mile path on the leading edge of a bow echo. Large pine trees were uprooted and snapped along the downburst`s path…With all|trees laying in the same direction. The most significant damage occurred approximately 9 miles north-northeast of Jonathan…where a 40×52 storage building was destroyed and damage to siding on a mobile home was observed.
