A line of thunderstorms moved across Bolivar County around noon on March 9th and produced substantial damage from Benoit to just west of Cleveland to around Mound Bayou. The most significant damage occurred in a segment of the squall line called a "bow echo". Numerous trees and power lines were snapped or blown down as a swath of 70 to 80 mph winds blew across the county. Just northwest of Cleveland, a mobile home park had several homes significantly damaged while a few permanent homes sustained major roof damage.
A swath of 80-90mph wind came through Rosedale. A tree fell through the roof of school building. Bleachers were flipped and displaced at the high school. Several large limbs fell on a car. Several power poles were snapped and trees were blown down in and around Rosedale. The roof was peeled off of several businesses in downtown Rosedale.
Numerous trees were blown down as well as some power lines in Cleveland. Sporadic trees were blown down in the county. About ten power poles were snapped due to estimated winds of 80 to 90mph. The roof of an airport hangar was damaged along with the hangar door.
