More then a thousand vehicles and many homes in Sartell were damaged by the storm. Hail measured by trained spotter. All injuries were minor. The hail fell when winds were not too strong, so crop damage in the area was limited.
Large hail stones, up to two inches in diameter, pelted the town of Freeport, Minnesota for several minutes and caused damage to electrical lines, and cars. The hail also accumulated up to 7 inches deep in some areas of town.
Trained spotters reported a large swath of quarter to golf ball size hail from near Holdingford to near St. Stephen, and Rice Minnesota. Crop damage was extensive either side of County Road 17 between Holdingford, and Rice, Minnesota where the depth of the hail was measured from a few inches, to over several feet.
