This was the largest hailstone reported in Dakota County from this set of storms. Radar indicated that the hail was likely largest in size and areal extent from Eagan, eastward to Inver Grove Heights, and toward the Dakota, Washington County line.
Several trained spotters and the general public reported a swath of large hailstones from near Highway 13, and Interstate 35 in Burnsville, southeast through Apple Valley to Rosemount. The largest hailstone was the size of golf balls.
