The spotter near Stephenson reported two-inch diameter hail, although most hail stones covering the ground were smaller. The large hail damaged roofs on homes across Stephenson, and the combination of the hail and heavy rainfall rates of 1-2 inches per hour clogged storm sewers and caused flooding of the Stephenson School.
