A severe thunderstorm caused wind damage along the east side of the Northeast River from the McDaniel Yacht Basin northeast to near Maryland State Route 7. At the McDaniel Yacht Basin, metal siding was peeled from buildings, boats were tossed and a wooden shed was destroyed. Farther to the northeast, trees and poles were knocked down along both Maryland State Routes 272 and 7. Trees were also knocked down between Granview Avenue and Hillcrest Lane, Irishtown Road and Saddler Avenue. Nearly 2,000 homes and businesses lost power in Cecil County.
A severe thunderstorm knocked down numerous trees in Perryville as well as over turning five storage trailers and overturning two vehicles. One vehicle was pushed into a ditch on Ikea Way off of U.S. Route 7 and resulted in two injuries. The damaging winds ripped a rooftop air conditioning unit from its support from the Amtrak Building. This left a hole in the building and also damaged nineteen vehicles in the parking lot.
A severe thunderstorm caused wind damage in the Forest View Trailer Park and Sherwood Forest Trailer Park near Elkton. One mobile home was condemned after a tree fell through it. Another mobile home lost about 75 percent of its shingles. There were also a large number of downed trees around the area of Steel's Motel on U.S. Route 40. About 10,000 homes and businesses lost power in Cecil and Hartford Counties. Power was restored by 11 p.m. EDT on the 2nd.
