Straight-line winds from a severe thunderstorm downed numerous trees in the Boothbay area. While scattered snapped or uprooted trees were seen throughout the Town, the most damage was observed between the Back River…and Back River and Knickerbocker Roads. Winds throughout much of the Boothbay area were estimated to be between 50 and 70 mph. The greatest amount of damage was observed |in an area between Jacobs Landing and Tidewater Road where numerous |large trees were snapped or uprooted by the storm. In this area, |winds were estimated to have gusted between 70 and 90 mph. Six to eight power poles were snapped by trees falling on power lines along Back Road..
