Around a dozen mature large maple trees were snapped at the base…or uprooted…along Lovejoy Ridge by wind gusts estimated at up to 60 mph. The damage was caused by straight line winds. The time is estimated. The Maine Forest Service conducted the aerial survey of the area.
Numerous trees were toppled or snapped around Bridgewater by wind gusts estimated at up to 70 mph. Extensive tree damage was reported along Corner Road…which remained closed into the early morning of the 20th while trees and debris were removed from the road. Numerous trees were snapped or toppled along the Boundary Line Road which blocked access to the Bridgewater Point Of Entry for a time. A large tree toppled across Route 1 resulted in a road closure until the tree was cleared.
Around 2 dozen softwood trees were snapped at the base or uprooted…along with several hardwood trees. A small shed was destroyed…with shingles also torn from the roof of a house. Wind gusts were estimated at up to 70 mph. The time is estimated.
