Thunderstorm winds partially removed the roofs on a few homes, damaged the roof of a barn, threw a horse trailer into a tree, knocked down power lines, snapped off trees, and blew a tree down on an abandoned house causing heavy damage along Highway 414.
A wide swath of wind damage, nearly 2 miles wide, occurred along Highway 1 just west of Old River. Dozens of trees were downed between Purpera Road and Tarwood Lane. The Senior Center in Ennis also had a tree downed onto it. Winds were estimated between 80 and 90 mph based on the number of trees downed.
Several trees were reported blown down in an area on the east side of False River along with a few signs and fences. Trees were also reported blown down in several other areas of Pointe Coupee Parish. Event time was estimated by radar.
