An apparent thunderstorm downburst caused widespread damage along an intermittant path destroying three houses, causing major damage to 24 houses and minor damage to 18 others. Nine mobile homes were destroyed, 10 sustained major damage and four minor damage. Four cars were destroyed and a business's display windows shattered. The damage area was surveyed by a National Weather Service Official.
A wind gust of 70 mph was measured near Watson. The thunderstorm winds blew down hundreds of trees and damaged over 100 homes and buildings in the Watson, Holden, and Albany areas. Areas around Watson were particularly hard hit.
Numerous trees, power lines, utility poles, and billboard signs were blown down. A seven year old boy was injured by flying debris and a woman was trapped in a car when a utility pole was blown down and live wires fell on the vehicle. One tree destroyed a car that it fell on and damaged the roof of a house.
