Trees and powerlines were downed across all of Grant Parish A woman was injured when she was struck by debris from straight line winds gusts that pushed here mobile home approximately six feet. Her foot was broken in two different places. Other damage included a few trees on homes, damaged vehicles from fallen trees as well as downed metal transmission structures.
National Weather Service storm survey team determined that the damage in Grant Parish during the early morning hours of April 27th was the result of a downburst. This was the same downburst which hit the communities of Natchez, Bermuda and Point Place in southern Natchitoches Parish. Numerous trees were downed around the Montgomery area with a barn completely destroyed and a few homes suffering minor wind damage.
Emergency Manager reported damage to a home and a metal shop was destroyed with 2 vehicles damaged from flying debris. Two people in the destroyed shop were injured from the debris as well. The location was north of the Catahoula Ranger Office on Hwy. 8.
