A NWS damage survey revealed that 70 to 100 mph wind gusts damaged 13 large transmission lines across rural Acadia Parish. In addition to these lines, numerous trees, smaller power poles, and several homes and outbuildings were also heavily damaged. The width of the damage swath was approximately 3 miles which began just east of the Mermateau River, and extended to neighborhoods south of Eunice. Large trees falling on homes created the greatest damage.
A severe storm blew down a large commercial sign onto an occupied car in the parking lot. The person in the car was injured, but survived. A nearby abandoned building had the roof removed during the storm and a tractor trailer on Interstate 10 was also flipped. Healthworks Gym in Crowley also had roof damage.
NWS Storm Survey found microburst wind damage along a 3 mile long by 300 yard wide path southwest of Iota. A few tree limbs were blown down along Saffron Road. A large tree was uprooted and fell on a home on Cattail Road just south of Fabacher Road, with damage to the roof and siding. A nearby chicken house received roof damage. A large tree also fell on a home further south on Cattail Road, crushing a vehicle and damaging the roof and carport.
