Dispatch relayed a report of water swiftly flowing over a bridge on Norwood Mount Zion Road where it crosses over Big Clifty Creek outside of Science Hill. A father and daughter were rescued by a state trooper after their vehicle became stranded in these flood waters.
There were several areas of high water in excess of one foot in downtown Somerset. Several massive trees were washed away and at least one motorist had to be rescued by the Pulaski County Emergency Manager as one and a half feet of flood water overtook his vehicle.
Numerous roads were closed or impassable due to flooding across southern Pulaski county. The list of roads included Slate Branch Road, Oak Hill Road, and Hwy 192. There were also reports and photographs of automobiles stranded in flood waters on Hwy 27 in Somerset.
