Following torrential mid-month rainfall amounts of around half a foot, river levels surged to only a couple feet below major flood, resulting in widespread flooding of low-lying bottomlands, affecting farmlands, roads, and woodland areas. The Green River at Paradise crested at 397.8 feet which is just shy of the major flood level of 400 feet. River levels remained in minor flood as flooding continued into March.
There was damage to numerous trees and power lines across the county. There was minor structural damage to some roofs as well. A total of 88 downed trees and 19 damaged structures were reported to the county's central dispatch office. The hardest hit areas included Drakesboro, Beechmont, and Greenville.
Winds estimated from 60 to 65 MPH downed numerous trees. Some of the trees landed on homes and businesses. County officials requested a state disaster declaration. Two houses were destroyed by fallen trees, one in Bremen and one in Greenville. Lots of trees were down along Highway 141 in Greenville. Some federal, state, and county roads were closed while trees were cleared from them.
