The Rockford High School baseball/softball complex sustained extensive damage when a light pole was blown down on the concessions and storage buildings, bleachers were blown through or up against fencing for the fields and trees and limbs were downed.
A severe thunderstorm produced an estimated 60 mph wind gust. The winds from the storm blew down several large trees across Charles City with one tree falling on a house. Riverside Cemetery was hit especially hard with numerous trees down.
