Large hail estimated to be golf ball-size fell about 1 mile west of Oneida, IA at the Kleusner farm around 225 pm July 24. The siding of the residence, garage, and other buildings were heavily damaged. The wind driven large hail also broke several windows of both the house and vehicles.
Hail the size of a golf ball fell in Delaware, IA around 228 pm July 24. Extensive crop damage was observed along Highway 20 from 1 mile west of the Delaware exit to 2 miles east of the Earlville exit. An exit sign was also damaged. A trained spotter also contributed to this report.
Golf ball to tennis ball sized hail fell in about a 10 mile wide swath across Delaware County from about 220 pm to 305 pm July 24. The hail swath extended from just west of Edgewood, IA southeast to about 2.6 miles east northeast of Sand Springs, IA. The copious amounts of large hail caused extensive crop damage.
