Flooding occurred along the Wabash River around the Terre Haute, Indiana area. The river crested at 18.5 feet on April 11th, 4.5 feet above flood stage. Damage estimate is extremely rough and based on the fact that about 50 river cabins typically start flooding at a river level of 18.0 feet.
Flooding occurred across many locations due to heavy rain that fell in Vigo County. High water closed many roads in the county. A motorist had to be rescued from her car after she disregarded a road closed sign. No injuries were reported.
The Honey Creek Levee Board Chairman reported three or four locations where water was overtopping the levee.||Moving water, a few feet deep, was observed over the road near the intersection of Robertson Road, Cantrell Drive, and Arbuckle Place. This is near the location where the Honey Creek Levee and Greenfield Bayou join.
