A tree on CR 400 S and 600 W fell down and trapped a 62 year old man who was trying to make it back to his vehicle after fishing in the reservoir. He was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at Parkview Huntington Hospital.
Several trees and power lines were blown down from just west of Huntington to 7 miles east of Huntington. A couple dozen houses as well as several vehicles were damaged by falling trees. A 4-H pavilion was heavily damaged. Damage is estimated at $200,000.
Emergency management officials reported the back side of a barn being blown down with several healthy two to three foot diameter trees also down. Power lines were also blown down in the area. Damage is estimated at $20,000.
