Multiple cars and trucks were blown off of Interstate 65, between mile markers 147 and 152, due to damaging thunderstorm wind gusts. A barn was also destroyed near this location. A larger pole barn was destroyed on County Road 400 North near 450 North.
Trees were snapped, large limbs and fences were downed, roof shingles were blown off, air conditioning units were moved and twisted, and a patio set was moved over a city block due to damaging thunderstorm wind gusts. Event occurred at Green Willow Road and Limelight Lane.
Several dozen trees were reported down from thunderstorm winds in and around Jamestown, Indiana. Tree size ranged from 6 to 12 inches in diameter. Most trees were snapped off rather than uprooted. Many streets were blocked for a couple hours until street crews could respond. There was at least 4 instances of utility lines down due to fallen trees/tree branches. Damage cost is a gross estimate.
