High winds from a thunderstorm along with wet soil conditions lead to considerable uprooted trees in East Kamiah. The greatest damage occurred along a two mile stretch of US-12 from Rock Road to the Kamiah Bridge. Trees fell across US-12 resulting in traffic disruption, in addition one residential trailer and one travel trailer were also damaged by falling trees.
A thunderstorm went through Syringa and the Apgar Campground, northeast of Lowell. A weather spotter reported trees down along US Highway-12 from Apgar Campground to just downstream of Swan Creek. The spotter also mentioned roof damage in Syringa and a power outage from Syringa to the Selway River.
Severe thunderstorms hit Idaho once again bringing large hail, gusty winds and some brief heavy rain. Wind and hail damage occured in several locations. Gusts to 70 mph in Butte and Clark Counties tipped over two tractor-semitrailer. In Rathdrum property damage was estimated at $1 million. New Plymouth suffered crop damage. One man was injured by 1.5 inch hail near Black Creek along Interstate 84. Due to heavy rains the Big Wood River rose to flood stage flooding some riverfront property near Ketchum.
