The Haralson County Fire Department and the public observed nickel-sized hail in the Tallapoosa area. WSR-88D radar data suggests that similar-size hail likely fell across the county from the west central areas to the northeast near Draketown.
The Haralson County 911 Center reported that hail fell across much of the county. Radar data and reports from neighboring counties from the same thunderstorms support at least penny-sized hail. Exact times were estimated using radar data.
The public reported hail, ranging in size from dimes to golf balls, which lasted for several minutes. In one case just east of Bremen, the hail was said to have covered the ground. It looked as if it had snowed. Slight hail damage was reported to cars.
