The Banks County 911 Center reported that penny-sized hail was observed at the Fire Station on Damascus Road northwest of Hollingsworth. Radar data suggests that similar hail likely fell with this thunderstorm further southwest to east of Lula.
The public observed penny-sized hail near Homer. The thunderstorm producing this hail tracked east from Hall county, crossing into Banks county near Lula. The main part of the storm moved east between Homer and Hollingsworth, then continued east to the Franklin county border east of Hollingsworth. Hail of at least penny-size likely fell along the path of the thunderstorm according to radar data and reports from Hall county immediately adjacent to the west.
The Banks County Emergency Management Director observed penny-sized hail in the Homer area. Penny-sized hail was also observed by the Jackson county Emergency Management Director along the Banks county line in the city of Maysville.
