Thunderstorm winds estimated at 70 miles an hour blew down trees, power lines, and large tree limbs throughout town. One large tree fell on a mobile home and crushed it. A 15 year old girl was killed in the mobile home and a 10 year old boy was injured by the tree. The wind also destroyed a business and damaged several homes in town.
Thunderstorm wind, likely associated with the supercell's rear flank downdraft, destroyed a hangar and offices at the Bentonville Municipal airport. Wind damage also occurred at the high school where the roof was removed from the field house and scoreboards and light towers were destroyed. A number of homes were damaged.
Thunderstorm winds estimated at 80 miles an hour did significant damage in Bentonville. The brick walls of part of a business were reduced to rubble as the winds were let in as its garage door was blown open.Nine homes in the southeast part of town's Walnut Ridge subdivision were damaged. Large tree limbs were blown down throughout the city with many of them knocking down power lines and causing power outages.
