Heavy rain fell across Yavapai County between September 2 and 3. Here are some 24 hour amounts (in inches) ending at noon on September 3: 11 miles SW of Prescott 1.28, 3 miles northwest of Camp Verde 1.25, 2 miles southwest of McGuireville 1.25, and 2 miles southwest of Cottonwood 0.93.
A thunderstorm produced 0.87 of an inch of rain about a mile south of downtown Prescott. This storm moved northeast and dropped just over an inch of rain (1.04) four miles north of Prescott Valley. The Prescott Airport received 1.48 inches of rain between 300 PM and 500 PM.
Heavy rain fell across the lower elevations of Yavapai County. A public report of 0.93 inches of rain was received in the McGuireville area by 800 AM on Tuesday (December 24) morning. Rain continued to fall in that area through Christmas Day.
