What the reports say

Large tree limbs were knocked down onto power lines across the city causing numerous power outages. Newspaper reports indicated businesses along US 231 Bypass received minor roof and shutter damage and some signs were destroyed.
Thunderstorms organized into a line just west of Pike County. The reflectivity gradient on these storms sharpened quickly, with a significant and persistent straight-line wind signature. A large swath of straight-line wind damage occurred across the southern portions of Pike County. The damage consisted mainly of snapped and uprooted trees, with the most significant damage along a stretch from Goshen to Brundidge. The damage swath continued into southern Barbour County.
Trees were downed around Goshen, and at least one home and one outbuilding sustained minor roof/siding damage. An open-air metal building at the Goshen High School baseball field was destroyed as well, with most of the building collapsed and mangled. Most of the damage was concentrated along Eagle Cir and Alabama St.
