Heavy rainfall produced flooding at numerous locations across Lamar County. Close to 40 roads were closed due to high water, including 10 that were completely washed out. Just east of Vernon, 3 people were rescued without injury after their car was caught in fast moving flood waters.
Flash flooding was reported around Millport. Highway 96 had shoulders washed out and area under the road washed out. Mount Carmel Rd had a culvert washed out, leaving it impassable. CR 27 and McAdams Rd were washed out as well.
Slow moving thunderstorms produced up to three inches of rain over Vernon, causing isolated flash flooding at the intersection of Alabama Highway 18 and Alabama Highway 17, where water was at a depth of six to eight inches.
