What the reports say

Straight-line winds downed numerous trees, limbs and power lines throughout the city. Phone lines were out as well. Equipment and building damage was reported at the city's recreation park. Power outages affected much of the city.
A mobile home was flipped over and destroyed. The occupant received a minor cut to the hand. The damage was surveyed and consistent with straight line winds of 70 to 75 mph. The monetary damage figure provided is a rough estimate.
Roofing material was blown off Headland High School and into portions of Headland Elementary School. The roofing material caused additional damage on the ground, including damaged power lines, a destroyed breezeway, and broken light poles. The material all blew off to the northeast suggesting straight line winds around 70 mph. No other significant damage was noted around the schools. Damage cost was estimated.
