Numerous county roads and city streets became impassable and suffered extensive damage due to flooding caused by torrential rainfall. The cities of Wetumpka, Millbrook, and Deatsville were especially hard hit. At least 43 homes, 10 business, and 2 churches also suffered damage due to the flooding. The Millbrook city parks and recreation areas suffered substantial damage.
Doppler Radar estimated up to 4 inches of rain in a three hour period. This heavy rain fell on alreadysaturated ground. Radar estimated up to 10 inches over the previous 24 hours. Several roadways were temporarily impassable due to high water. Several residences received high water surrounding their homes.
Rainfall totals of 3-5 inches over a two hour period resulted in numerous flooded roadways across southern Elmore County. Flooded roads include: Highway 14 near Queen Ann Road, Highway 111, Highway 231 near the Blue Ridge Community.
