Lightning struck an oil tank battery in southwestern Upton County, resulting in signifcant damge to the tanks. Golf ball-size hail damaged a vehicle east of McCamey, and downburst winds blew a tree into a pickup truck northeast of McCamey.
The Upton County Sheriff's Office reported quarter to golf ball-size hail north of Rankin. A spotter later reported golf ball- size and larger hail near Rankin. Minor damage to crops and vehicles resulted from the hail.
