Several tree limbs were downed by the intense thunderstorm winds around Anson. The high winds ripped half the roof off of an Anson apartment complex, and the high winds snapped a utility pole and an electrical line. A truck was destroyed when part of the metal roof landed on it.
Law enforcement officials reported significant wind damage in Hamlin. A National Weather Service survey team found roofs blown off of buildings and some downed wood fences. These damaging winds blew out glass windows on a building and two vehicles. The damaging thunderstorms winds also knocked down trees and a power pole.
Law enforcement reported roof material was blown off of the West Side High School. In addition, a few trees were toppled, power lines were knocked down, several carports were turned over, and trampolines were blown around. Most of the damage extended to eight blocks south of the courthouse. There were also some large barn doors buckled by the highs winds on the north side of Anson.
