What the reports say

The tornado touched down briefly near Orange Grove with power lines down. It tore the roof off a residence and damaged two others. The owners of the house were at home when the damage occurred and reported hearing a sound like a train" just before the tornado struck. They were not injured. Golf ball- to baseball-sized hail in Orange Grove at the same time.
The sheriff's office reported golf ball-size hail. The Alice Weather Office recorded wind gusts to 69 mph. Several power outages were reported in the area. The sheriff's office reported numerous large limbs down and several trees uprooted and over roadways.
