Thunderstorm winds estimated at 70 miles an hour raked the south side of Marshall. Extensive roof damage was reported due to trees blown down onto homes and cars. One person was injured and admitted to the hospital. Other damage was done to commercial buildings, an apartment complex and 40 to 50 power line poles were blown down.
North to south oriented multi-cellular squall line produced a significant microburst with damage to light to moderate damage homes and businesses. Numerous large trees toppled and snapped crushing cars and damaging roofs. One eye witness described as everything suddenly went horizontal, rain and debris.
National Weather Service Storm Survey Team determined that damage across Northeast Harrison County was consistent with that of straight line wind damage to near 90 mph. Numerous trees and powerlines were downed in and around the Karnack and Uncertain Texas communities. Some of these trees fell on homes in the area as well.
