Along U.S. Hwy. 69, south of Jacksonville, Texas, several trees and a power line sustained damage. Damage also occured at a greenhouse on the west side of U.S. Hwy. 69. NWS survey concluded straight line winds caused this damage.
NWS survey confirmed straight-line wind damage produced by a supercell thunderstorm on the northwest side of Jacksonville. Winds were estimated between 70 to 90 mph in a swath of over 2000 yards wide and around 2.5 miles long. Most of the direct damage was to trees, although one heavily damaged metal building system garnered a peak wind gust estimated at 96 mph.
A mobile home was rolled over on County Road 4623. A tree was also blown down onto a vehicle on County Road 4619, resulting in an injury to the occupant of the vehicle. Both reports occurred near the Henrys Chapel community.
